We luckily didn't lose a single discus due to all the changes and the nitrite spike we had. They are all looking absolutely gorgeous now with all their spunk and colors back. Here are the pictures, definitely rewarding fish to keep And they are not the same fish in any of the pictures, we have 7 in total (the last picture is the little yellow discus being shy)

Well here we go again. Big Donkey and his wife have decided to start clearing rocks again, so I think they will do the deed again soon. And our other pair of convicts in the 20 gallon have little wigglers all over inside one of the decorations. I was wondering why they were spending all their time in behind it, so I lifted it out yesterday and peeked and sure enough, they have the wigglers. What will I do with all these babies? I might have to separate the males and females for a while

I am happy to say that I think most of my discus are completely out of the woods. Most of them ate tonight, and they have their colors back. Only 1 of them have the ich but with treatment it should help it go away. Here is a picture of one of the wild caughts!

And here is another picture of healthier looking fish:

How long does it take for eggs to hatch when you have egg layers? I was able to save some of my red jewels eggs and are currently in a bucket with a sponge filter and heater. I wanted to know if anyone can tell me the signs that the eggs are going bad, and what time frame it may take in them hatching. I am new at raising babies from eggs by myself, is there anything else I should be doing? All the help I can get would be great thanks!!!

I was curious to why I never saw one of my female kribensis around anywhere, then tonight I saw our male hanging out around the mouth of one of the caves. I then saw her peeking her head out every now and then, so I decided to lift the deco up and I shone a flashlight in. Sure enough she is in there with a ton of fry. Lol it seems like our fish are all popping out babies lately. For the longest time none did anything, and now they all seem to be breeding, the convicts started it all and now I ...

Along with buying our tropheus we also decided to get a jurupari for the community. These guys are wild caught. We only picked up one male for now, and maybe in a couple of weeks after seeing how he does we will get one of the females. They have had them for some time now so I am thinking they should still have some when I come back This guy is massive though, about 7" in length. I found out too after researching this morning before going, many stores sell them as geophagus, but they are ...

I am really in a stump here. I went to one of my favorite fish stores today to pick up some NLS, yay I got some finally and my fish loved it even my discus ate which was the first time I have seen it. Ok now back to my point. At the store they had some gorgeous wild caught discus, these guys were probably about 7 inches in diameter. They told me they want $60 each for them when they are ready. This store actually quarantines new fish for a couple of weeks. He said they will be ready by next week. ...

This will sound kind of strange, but today one of my daughters was looking at our convict babies, and said mommy, how come those babies look different. So I took a really close look at all the babies. Out of the 20 or so babies they have in there, there are 2 babies that don't look at all like the others. Instead of having the more oval shaped bodies, they are long and skinny, and instead of having vertical stripes, they have one long horizontal stripe going from one end of their bodies to the ...

I am so excited. I think we might have some kribensis babies on the way. Our male and female would dance around each other, shortly started after putting the female in. Now for the past couple of days she has been hiding out in this cave, and he stays near the entrance, chasing off other fish. I think that sounds like some good news to me. Hehe especially since the most I have ever bred are convicts and guppies So this is bigger news for me. And the plants are all starting to come in really ...
