Hi All,
I live in the best place on earth, Kelowna, BC.
I have a 72gal that I have set up for mbuna but they are very hard to find around here. I got 6 Metriaclima estherae from petsmart. Probably not the best fish but they are happy and healthy and looking good. I also put 4 jewel cichlids in there, I know they aren't mbuna, but I needed some more fish. They seem to get along well so far.
I'm leaning more toward the smaller (dwarf) mbuna like afras etc. but I just can't find them here and I don't know if I can find them on the coast, Vancouver, or not either. RZA doesn't list a lot of mbuna and I don't know where else to look. If anyone knows any local breeders or good mbuna sources in Kelowna or Vancouver please let me know.
